Los Angeles Angels Designated Hitter Mike Trout etched his name into the history books in style earlier today. A two-run home run in the bottom of the 5th inning helped him join the 1,000 RBI club. His performance helped the Angels prevail 4-1 over the Seattle Mariners. Trout has not played that well in 2025. He is hitting .237 with 19 home runs and 47 RBI. How will he fare over the rest of the season?

The beginning of Trout’s career was so good that he would have had a formidable GOAT case if he had kept it up. Unfortunately, injuries have hampered one of the best players in league history. He has not played 120 games in a full season since 2019. His accolades are too much to mention. He is an 11-time MLB All-Star, 9-time Silver Slugger, three-time AL MVP, and a Rookie of the Year.
The star DH and the Los Angeles Angels return to the diamond tomorrow when they welcome the Texas Rangers to town for a three-game set. While this is a time of celebration, it also brings forth an important question: How good would Trout have been if he had remained even moderately healthy over the last half-decade? Hopefully, the all-time great can turn back the clock and remain on the field.
