Los Angeles Dodgers’ Blake Snell Gets Concerning Update

The Los Angeles Dodgers are gearing up at an attempt to become the first team to three-peat as World Series champions since the New York Yankees did it back in 1998, 1999, and 2000.

While Opening Day is still months away, the Dodgers have been making a lot of noise this offseason. After signing former New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz early, the team doubled down by landing superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker on a four-year, $240 million contract.

Once again, Los Angeles found a way to steal the prize of the offseason. That has become a trend in recent years and has brought on many accusations of the Dodgers ruining baseball.

Last offseason, the team made a splash move by signing star ace pitcher Blake Snell. He was a big part of the World Series in last season, although he dealt with some injury concerns throughout the year. Leading up to Opening Day, his status is in doubt.

Los Angeles Dodgers May Not Have Blake Snell for Opening Day

As shared by Jack Harris of The California Post, the team is not certain that Snell will be ready to pitch by the start of the season. He has been dealing with a tired arm this offseason.

“Thus, Snell and the team decided to have the 33-year-old slow-play his winter throwing program this offseason,” Harris wrote. “The plan, Snell said, is to still be ready for Opening Day in late March. But at this point, that is not seen as a certainty within the organization.”

During his first season with the Dodgers in 2025, Snell made just 11 starts. He compiled a 5-4 record to go along with a 2.35 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, a 2.8 K/BB ratio, and 61.1 innings pitched.

In the postseason, Los Angeles received good outings from Snell. He appeared in six games and made five starts, compiling a 3-2 record, a 3.18 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, a 3.2 K/BB ratio, and 34 innings completed.

Snell getting healthy is a top priority for the Dodgers. When he’s on his game, he is one of the best pitchers in baseball. Hopefully, the team can get him back to full health early on during the 2026 season.

The Dodgers Look Like a Clear World Series Favorite

Simply looking at the roster, Los Angeles appears to be the most talented team in baseball. Adding Tucker and Diaz has simply added to that equation.

From a pitching perspective, the Dodgers will feature a rotation of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Shohei Ohtani, and either Emmet Sheehan or Roki Sasaki. The bullpen looks off the charts once again as well.

As for their lineup, there will be no shortage of offensive firepower. Tucker, Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Teoscar Hernandez are the workhorses, with a great supporting cast around them.

Los Angeles has built a dynasty and it isn’t looking likely to slow down this season. Assuming the Dodgers stay healthy, a three-peat could very well be in the cards.
