Los Angeles Dodgers Designated Hitter Shohei Ohtani remains the hottest hitter in Major League Baseball. He hit a home run for the fifth straight game this afternoon at home against the Minnesota Twins. After winning the National League MVP last season, he picked up right where he left off in 2025. The Japanese phenom is second in the league in home runs, second in Slugging Percentage, and second in OPS. Will Ohtani be able to keep playing as well this summer?

He is one of the most talented players to ever appear in Major League Baseball. When he signed his contract with the Dodgers in December 2023, it was the richest in North American professional sports history . One year later, Juan Soto set the record for the largest contract in history.
