When the New York Yankees needed a big hit on Wednesday at T-Mobile Park, they just looked to their captain. Aaron Judge was ready for the call, delivering a game-tying solo home run en route to a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners.
Mariners reliever Carlos Vargas (1-3) put a slider right in Judge's wheelhouse and he didn't miss it. The eighth-inning homer snapped a 2-2 tie. Yankees reliever Ian Hamilton notched the victory and Luke Weaver, the New York closer, picked up his fourth save this season.

The Yankees' rally managed to put a damper on a great game from Seattle center fielder Julio Rodriguez. He made an incredible catch in the first inning, taking away a home run from New York leadoff hitter Trent Grisham. Rodriguez then knocked in two runs in the third inning.
Mariners starter Luis Castillo was on his game, too. He just gave up one run and six hits in six innings of work. Yankees pinch-hitter Paul Goldschmidt, with New York down 2-1, slammed a game-tying solo homer in the seventh inning, The Associated Press reported.
Seattle positioned itself for a rally in their half of the eighth, too. With one out, Cal Raleigh and Randy Arozarena were on base. But Dylan Moore couldn't capitalize, hitting into a double play and ending any Mariners threat.
Both teams will be off on Thursday. The Yankees start up a Subway Series with the New York Mets, sending Carlos Rodon (4-3, 3.29 ERA) to the mound. For Seattle, the Mariners go up against the San Diego Padres. Right-hander Logan Evans (1-1, 6.60 ERA) will get the start for the Mariners.
