
Seattle Marinersfirst baseman Josh Naylor has had a very productive career in Major League Baseball thus far. He has been in the majors for seven years, batting .269 with a .777 OPS, 104 home runs and 435 RBIs. He has played with four different franchises in his career, most notably a five-year stint with the Cleveland Guardians' organization.
He was traded to Seattle from Cleveland in July in a deal that sent two pitching prospects to the Guardians. He played 147 games between the two organizations in 2025 with a .295 batting average, 20 long balls and 92 RBIs.
The 28-year-old played a huge role in Seattle's postseason run, which ended in a seven-game loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. In 12 games in the playoffs, Naylor hit an incredible .340 with a .967 OPS, three home runs and five RBIs.
On Thursday, Naylor, who was born in Mississauga, Canada, received an honor from his home country.

"The St. Marys, Ont.-based shrine presents this honour annually to the Canadian player judged to have excelled in individual achievement and team contribution while adhering to baseball’s highest ideals."

This is the second time Naylor has won this award having earned it in 2023 as well. That year, he hit a career-best .308 with 17 homers and 97 RBIs.
Last month, after his impressive 2025 season, Naylor locked up his future with the Mariners by signing a five-year, $92.5 million contract with the organization.
Seattle fans are happy to know that their Canadian star will be playing in a Mariners uniform for years to come.
