Colt Emerson, MLB Pipeline’s No. 17th overall prospect, seems to be heating up in a big way for the Seattle Mariners organization.
In his last three games with the Everett AquaSox, the Mariners' High-A Minor League affiliate, Emerson has recorded six extra-base hits, including a home run in two contests. Emerson also had a career-high four hits on Wednesday.
Drafted with Seattle’s first-round pick back in 2023, the highly-touted prospect has continued to impress during his stint in the minors. To go along with an advanced approach at the plate and a surge in power that has Major League Baseball scouts raving, Emerson has given Mariners fans plenty to be excited about as he climbs through the minor league ranks.
With a sweet left-handed stroke and continuing to produce at the plate, Emerson potentially could hit his way and force himself to Double-A before the end of the season. At 19 years old, Emerson is positioning himself as a key part of Seattle’s future. Going into Thursday, he had a .267 batting average, a .368 on-base percentage and a .796 OPS.
Though he is a long way from making the big league club, Emerson could be exactly what the Mariners need to bolster their offense in the future. The sooner, the better.
