Mark Prior Sends Message Regarding Dodgers' Injured Pitching Staff

It has been well chronicled that the Los Angeles Dodgers' pitching staff has dealt with its fair share of injuries through the first month and a half of this season. Despite the setbacks, Los Angeles is still performing at a remarkably high level, and this speaks volumes about the Dodgers' organization and its ability to consistently plug different pieces into various roles and still achieve success.

A big part of that has to do with the Dodgers' longtime pitching coach, Mark Prior. This week, Prior shared a message on how the Dodgers have responded to the injuries:

"We've lost a lot of guys we expected to carry a bulk of the innings for us. That's put a lot of pressure on some other guys, and unfortunately, we've had some guys come up hurt."

The players that the Dodgers had expected to "carry a bulk of innings" are Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, and recently, Roki Sasaki, who are all on the Injured List, dealing with shoulder issues.

However, in the wake of all the injured pitchers, like Prior alluded to, it's put a lot of pressure on some other guys to perform. That group includes Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin, and at times, Landon Knack. May hadn't seen consistent time on the mound in nearly two years, but he has been excellent for the Dodgers' rotation thus far.

While the Dodgers continue to perform well despite all the injuries, it could start to be a concern as they enter one of the hardest stretches in their schedule over the next month.
