The Miami Marlins took a tough 7-2 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies, and many eyes wandered to right-hander Chris Paddack. It wasn’t his best performance, as he surrendered seven runs in just 2 2/3 innings in the loss.
Now, the Marlins are looking to do some evaluations on Paddack to see if everything is good with him on the health side, according to Barry Jackson.
“After Sunday’s debacle, Marlins plan to evaluate Chris Paddack from a health standpoint after a drop in velocity yesterday, per source. A few things are on the table, including possible IL stint based on whether a health issue emerges. Snelling/Garrett are the top Triple A options if he misses a start or starts. McCullough has said he will start Friday (but only if healthy, obviously),” Jackson wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Paddack entered the Phillies game tied for the 14th-best BB/9 rate among qualifying MLB starting pitchers since 2019, but nobody expected this kind of play from him.
