Miami Marlins center fielder Dane Myers was called out on Thursday for throwing a tantrum following a strikeout.
Myers was batting with a runner on first and two outs in the top of the fifth inning against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Ca. He was facing a 0-2 count and struck out on a breaking ball away. Myers was so ticked off that he immediately broke his bat over his knee. He slammed his broken bat pieces to the ground and then chucked his helmet to the ground as well.
Giants announcer Mike Krukow was heard saying “bush” before the NBC Sports Bay Area telecast went to a commercial break.
"Bush."

“Bush” is short for “bush league,” which is a common saying in baseball to describe something unprofessional or low quality.
Myers had been hitless in the entire series through that point, which likely explains his extreme frustration. He later singled in the 8th inning. The converted pitcher is batting .300 on the season and has had great success at the plate in what is his first full season as a full-time player.
The Giants announcers later expressed that Myers should reconsider his behavior because he should know how much satisfaction it would give a pitcher.
