Max Muncy sets wild mark in Dodgers' latest win

Max Muncy has found his stride at the plate over the last month following a slow start to the season, and the Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman accomplished a remarkable feat in his team's latest win.

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI in the Dodgers' 13-7 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. The seven-RBI game was Muncy's second in less than a month, as he drove in the same number of runs in a May 31 victory against the New York Yankees.

Muncy's seven-RBI game on Sunday came 22 days after his previous one, to be exact. That is the fewest number of days between games with seven-plus RBI since Pittsburgh Pirates legend Ralph Kiner had two games with seven or more RBI in a span of two weeks in 1951.

Muncy has now raised his average to .242 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI. His average barely rose above .200 for the first two months of the season, so he seems to have sorted out some issues at the plate.

The Dodgers have won seven of their last nine games after taking two of three from the Nationals over the weekend. They will be even tougher to beat as long as Muncy stays hot.
