Mets acting GM Zack Scott on administrative leave amid DWI charge

The MLB community was surprised to learn Wednesday that New York Mets acting general manager Zack Scott had reportedly been arrested at 4:17 a.m. Tuesday and was facing a driving while intoxicated charge related to an incident that allegedly involved police finding him asleep inside of his car in White Plains, N.Y. 

The Mets originally said Scott wouldn't be traveling for their upcoming road trip, but they announced Thursday that he's been placed on administrative leave until further notice. Team president Sandy Alderson is assuming Scott's responsibilities, potentially through at least the end of the regular season on Oct. 3. 

As ESPN noted, Scott attended a fundraiser for the Amazin' Mets Foundation at owner Steve Cohen's house in Connecticut on Monday night but reportedly left that event around 8:30 or 9 p.m. ET. Players had also attended the fundraiser.
