The New York Mets have been trying to get back into their winning ways after going on a seven-game losing streak recently.
New York was able to snap the streak on Saturday in their win against the Philadelphia Phillies, but would later lose the series-determining matchup on Sunday.
Ahead of Monday's NL East matchup against the Atlanta Braves, the New York Mets made an announcement regarding Luisangel Acuna – just before he was set to face his older brother, former NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr.
New York decided to option Luisangel Acuna to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday. The move promoted outfielder Travis Jankowski to the Mets' 40-man roster.

Luisangel Acuna had started in 65 games for the Mets in 2025 and had begun the season in a hot start, raising his batting average to as high as a .313 in early May.
Acuna had started to slump, and after batting a .167 in the month of June, the Mets decided to send him down to Triple-A to try and find his groove again.
It was disheartening timing for the Mets' second baseman, as he was set to play against older brother, Ronald, but it seems as it was a necessary step for the Mets as they attempt to get back to the winning groove.
New York will try to stay in striking distance while they try to win their first NL East title since 2015, and the Braves will look to stay relevant in the Wild Card picture as they have struggled to put together a successful season.
