Mets Fans Are Getting Hyped For Max Scherzer’s Tuesday Return
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Mets are getting a key piece of their starting rotation back tonight when they take on the Cincinnati Reds in game two of their three-game set.

Max Scherzer is taking the mound for the first time since May 18, when he exited his start against the St. Louis Cardinals with an oblique injury.

When facing Albert Pujols, Scherzer had signaled towards the Mets dugout that he would be unable to keep pitching.

He was subsequently placed on the injured list.

But fear not, Mets fans.

Your veteran ace is back and is ready to lead your team to October.

SNY, the TV home of the Mets, tweeted a cool graphic celebrating Scherzer’s return.

Welcome Back, Mad Max

It’s been far too long since we’ve gotten to see Mad Max pitch at the major league level.

But at long last, here he is, back from his oblique injury and ready to help lead the Mets to the postseason as the pennant race begins to heat up.

Baseball isn’t the same without his fiery, competitive spirit that can only be compared to guys like Bob Gibson and Roger Clemens.

Scherzer is a fierce competitor with a bulldog mentality that helps him win games and dominate each and every one of his opponents.

Mets fans are getting a treat tonight and the Mets rotation is getting healthier.

Better yet, Jacob deGrom doesn’t appear to be too far off either.

He’ll be back soon, and the Mets will finally be able to boast the two best starting pitchers in baseball in the same rotation.

Scherzer is certainly ready to go.

Get hyped, Mets fans.

Your ace is back and ready to dominate.
