Mets have seventh game postponed since April 1 due to wintry weather in Colorado

Friday was yet another bad day for the New York Mets for reasons that have little to do with on-the-field performance.

Hours after additional allegations of inappropriate behavior made against a former and current member of the organization went public via a story published by The Athletic, Friday's game between the Mets and Colorado Rockies at Coors Field was postponed due to wintry conditions and converted into a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday.

There's no guarantee the weather will cooperate on Saturday, although it's hoped the teams will be able to take the field at some point on Sunday at the latest.

Following Friday's development, the Mets have now had a total of six games postponed since their season-opening series at the Washington Nationals was called off due to COVID-19 concerns that prevented Washington from playing from April 1-4. Last Sunday's home matchup versus the Miami Marlins was suspended in the top of the first inning due to rain.

Likely realizing what was to come, the Mets' social media team was able to have some fun referencing the conditions.

Thus far, the Mets have completed eight of a scheduled 15 games since April 1 but sit atop the National League East standings at 5-3.
