Mets place OF Jake Marisnick on injured list with hamstring tightness

Before Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, the New York Mets placed outfielder Jake Marisnick on the 10-day injured list with right hamstring tightness.

Per Scott Thompson of SNY, Marisnick dealt with the issue throughout the pandemic-shortened campaign. The 29-year-old, who will enter free agency after the season, played in only 16 games this summer. He hit .333 with two home runs, five RBI and three doubles.

The Mets recalled outfielder Guillermo Heredia from their alternate training site in a corresponding roster move.

The Amazin's acquired Marisnick in a trade with the Houston Astros last December. Michael Mayer of MetsMerized tweeted how that and other similar transactions went poorly for the Mets:

The Mets began Monday 2.5 games back in the playoff race with seven games left.
