Mets postponed again; Colorado games in doubt?

The New York Mets are at least rested halfway through April.

Thursday's game at Citi Field between the Mets and Philadelphia Phillies was rained out less than an hour into what had become an expected delay.

As SNY noted, it's the sixth time the Mets have had a game either postponed or suspended since April 1. Their season-opening series at the Washington Nationals was scrapped due to COVID-19 issues impacting Washington, and this past Monday's home showdown with Philadelphia was also called off due to rain. Last Sunday's matchup against the Miami Marlins was suspended in the top of the first inning because of wet weather conditions.

The Amazins now have four doubleheaders on their schedule for later in the year. Following Thursday's developments, manager Luis Rojas spoke with reporters about the disruptions.

Additionally, the Friday and Saturday games at the Colorado Rockies don't look too good at the moment. As Kevin Henry explained for Roxpile, Denver could receive up to six inches of snow before Friday evening, and potential record-low temperatures could threaten Saturday's contest.

While things appear more promising for a Mets-Rockies game on Sunday afternoon, New York fans have grown to expect the worst over the past couple of weeks.
