Mets Predicted to Make Trade After Injury News

The New York Mets can't seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries this season. Despite their 22-11 record, the Mets have dealt with multiple injuries to key players that have hindered their depth thus far this season.

As the Mets prepare for a brutal May schedule against teams such as the Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers, their bullpen will need to bring their best.

But recently, injuries to veteran relievers Danny Young and A.J. Minter have put New York's bullpen in a tough spot. It appears their solution to these depth troubles is to explore the trade market.

In an article written by SNY’s Andy Martino, he reported that the Mets are inquiring about trade possibilities to supplement their bullpen.

“Yes, my understanding is that the Mets are looking to trade for lefty bullpen help after the injuries to A.J. Minter and Danny Young," Martino wrote.

While the Mets' bullpen has been one of the best in the Majors, the injuries to multiple veterans will hamper their depth.

New York's bullpen has registered a 3.18 ERA in 127.1 innings pitched. Additionally, they have surrendered just a 1.17 WHIP and a .225 average to opposing hitters. But this dominance may not continue if they are unable to secure additional depth, as injuries will eventually take their toll.

According to MLB, New York has the 12th-ranked farm system in baseball. Additionally, they have three top-100 prospects. This talent on the farm will assist the Mets in landing bullpen help.
