Mets reportedly fire acting GM Zack Scott two months following DWI charge

Less than one year into his tenure as the acting general manager, the New York Mets have fired Zack Scott.

SNY's Andy Martino was the first to report the news.

Scott was named acting GM in January after Jared Porter was fired following an ESPN report that the former GM has sent explicit text messages to a female reporter while with the Chicago Cubs in 2016. Scott is currently facing a charge for driving while intoxicated after he was arrested on Aug. 31 when an officer found him asleep at the wheel of his car in White Plains, N.Y.

He pleaded not guilty at a court appearance in September and his court date for a non-jury trial is set for Dec. 8.

Prior to joining the Mets as an assistant general manager, Scott worked with the Boston Red Sox for 17 years.
