Miami Marlins Continue Winning Ways With 4th Straight Win

With a 3-1 win at home today against the Kansas City Royals, the Miami Marlins notched their fourth straight win. Miami has outscored its opponents 28-9 over its four-game winning streak. Miami’s winning ways began with two straight wins against the Baltimore Orioles to close out the first half of the regular season. Miami picked right where they left off by taking the opening two games against the Royals. How long can the Miami Marlins keep it going?

Miami Marlins Season Summary

Miami is in third place in the National League East. They are 7 games back of the third and final National League wild card spot. Miami’s offense has been mediocre. They are ninth in the league in batting average, 26th in home runs, and 17th in runs scored. Left Fielder Kyle Stowers has been great this year. He is ninth in batting average and sixth in OPS.

Miami’s pitching staff has not been good. They are 24th in ERA , 22nd in WHIP, and 22nd in opposing batting average. No player has stood out positively on the team’s pitching staff. Sandy Alcantara has the worst ERA, 7.14, among qualified starters. He is a far different pitcher than the one who won the 2022 NL Cy Young.

Final Thoughts

The Miami Marlins will look for their fifth straight win tomorrow afternoon against the Kansas City Royals. Even though a postseason appearance may not be in Miami’s future, they are laying the foundation for what they hope is future success.
