Miguel Vargas Named AL Player of the Week

"It means a lot," Vargas remarked before the White Sox took on the Mariners at Rate Field, highlighting his journey from a rough patch to his current success. His stats tell the story of an incredible turnaround, from a .104 batting average in his first 42 games with Chicago last season to slashing .417/.423/1.000 with two doubles, four home runs, nine RBI, and five runs between May 12 and 18.

The transformation wasn't magic but the result of a slight yet impactful adjustment to his batting stance, a move that has since seen Vargas's performance soar. "It means all the world to me for sure," Vargas said, reflecting on the ups and downs that led to his recent success.
