Milwaukee Brewers rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski suffered his first Major League loss on Wednesday in the second game of a doubleheader against the New York Mets. After starting his MLB career with 11 no-hit innings and three consecutive wins, Misiorowski allowed five runs in 3.2 innings while walking three and striking out just two.
Despite the poor performance, his overall stellar performance since being called up by the Brewers cannot be overlooked. Misiorowski is currently 3-1 with a 3.20 ERA in four starts and is already considered by some to be one of the best starting pitchers in the Majors.
And on Thursday, he earned an award that only one other pitcher in franchise history had won.
On Monday, it was announced that Misiorowski, on the back of his 3-1 record and 11 no-hit innings to start his career, had been awarded the National League Rookie of the Month Award for June.

Prior to Misiorowski taking home the honor, the only Brewers pitcher who had won it was Ben Sheets back in June of 2001. During that month, Sheets was 5-0 in six starts with a 3.55 ERA.
That same year, former Brewers pitcher CC Sabathia took home the AL Rookie of the Month Award in July while playing for the Cleveland Indians.
