Milwaukee Brewers Join 2 Former World Series Teams With Latest Historic Accomplishment

The Milwaukee Brewers dominated Don Kelly's Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday with a 7-1 home win that improved manager Pat Murphy's team to 74-44, the best record in Major League Baseball.

The Brewers got two hits each from left fielder Isaac Collins, catcher William Contreras and designated hitter Christian Yelich while starting pitcher Jose Quintana went six innings, giving up a single run.

After the game, it was announced that the Brew Crew joined a prestigious club of MLB teams including two former World Series winners, all of whom dominated over a 29-game stretch.

The Brewers joined a list of 13 teams, including the 1984 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers and 1998 World Series Champion New York Yankees, as teams who have won 25 games over a 29-game stretch.

One fan asked a question in response.

The Brewers franchise has not made the World Series since 1982, when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.

Murphy's team is now the undisputed number one group in MLB power rankings across several different websites and has positioned itself as a strong 2025 World Series contender coming off of a Wild Card loss to the Mets last season.

Monday's win came as a new list of the Brewers' Top 50 Prospects was revealed. A Brewers trade deadline deal raised eyebrows.

The Brewers have two more games left against the Pirates before hitting the road on Friday to take on the Cincinnati Reds in hopes of keeping their good mojo going.
