The Milwaukee Brewers announced a pair of concerns in regard to pitchers Quinn Priester and Trevor Megill on Wednesday. Megill is dealing with a flexor tendon strain and is heading to the injured list, whereas Priester was scratched from his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks and instead Aaron Ashby opened and newly signed Erick Fedde followed.
According to Priester, he is dealing with a minor wrist issue. After discussing this with the organization, they felt like rather than having him pitch at 90% health, they should delay his start with the hopes of him feeling 100% in three days time, which is when he is tentatively scheduled to make his next start.
Quinn Priester has a minor right wrist issue. He’s tentatively scheduled to start Saturday in Toronto.
Sal Frelick is being given a rest day today.
If all goes well at Nashville tonight, Jackson Chourio will join the Brewers in Toronto.

At this stage of the season, it’s normal for players to be dealing with nagging issues. That’s why the Brewers having the flexibility to delay Quinn Priester’s start by a few days, to ensure he returns at full strength, is a luxury that shouldn’t be overlooked. Priester has been a steady force in the rotation, posting a 3.44 ERA, and he remains a strong candidate to take the mound for Milwaukee in the postseason.
With Priester out, Aaron Asbhy and Erick Fedde covered 6.1 innings for the Brewers. Ashby, who served as the opener, tossed two scoreless frames and struck out three batters whereas Fedde went 4.1 innings and allowed just two earned runs. The only mistake Fedde made was to Blaze Alexander, who launched a go-ahead two run home run in the sixth inning.
What happens with Fedde next will be one to watch closely. After being designated for assignment by the Braves and traded by the Cardinals at this year’s deadline, he’s now with a Brewers organization known for helping pitchers turn things around. While 2025 has been a tough season for Fedde, he showed in 2024 that he has the tools to be a reliable middle-of-the-rotation arm. The question now is whether Milwaukee can manage their roster going forward to retain him, or if he simply was brought aboard for a spot start.
