The Milwaukee Brewers brought in some new faces at the trade deadline. Catcher Danny Jansen, outfielder Brandon Lockridge, and a pair of injured pitchers in reliever Shelby Miller and starter Jordan Montgomery all joined the 40-man roster. With that, relievers Bryan Hudson and Elvis Peguero were DFA’d.
After a designation for assignment, all other teams can submit a claim in order to obtain said player and add them to their 40-man roster. The Chicago White Sox put claims in on both Hudson and Peguero, and were granted each of them.
Hudson and Peguero are joining quite a few of their former teammates in Chicago. Current former Brewers players on the White Sox 40-man roster include Aaron Civale, Tyler Alexander, Shane Smith, and Gus Varland.
Civale and Alexander were Brewers players in 2025, Varland 2024, and Smith was snagged by the White Sox during the Rule-5 draft last winter.
