A look at Wednesday’s minor-league action within the Pirates' system ...

INDIANAPOLIS (21-23) lost at Iowa in 11 innings, 8-7. Miles Mastrobuoni brought in the winning run on a grounder in the 11th off of Geronimo Franzua.

In his first appearance since being outrighted to Indianapolis, reliever Josh Fleming allowed a three-run home run to David Bote in his lone inning of relief. Jake Lamb went 4-for-5 with a double and a walk and scored two runs. Matt Fraizer went 2-for-4 with a double and a homer. Henry Davis had a pinch-hit RBI double in the 10th inning.

ALTOONA (11-30) won at Erie, 2-0. The Curve scored both of their runs in the eighth inning on Seth Beer's solo homer and Sammy Siani's sacrifice fly.

Erie had runners on the corners and one out in the seventh, but Altoona caught Trei Cruz trying to steal home on a double-steal for the second out. Curve catcher Wyatt Hendrie and second baseman Jackson Glenn connected for the putout.

GREENSBORO (23-18) had their comeback fall short in a 14-12  loss to Greenville. Greenville posted four runs in the first and six in the third to take a 10-2 lead. Termarr Johnson hit a solo homer in the third to begin a streak of nine unanswered runs and a 10-9 Greensboro lead into the eighth.

The Grasshoppers took the lead in the seventh on P.J. Hilson's two-run home run, his second homer of the day. Greenville pulled back ahead 11-10 in the eighth on Allan Castro's two-run homer off of reliever Derek Diamond. After Greensboro tied it in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extra innings, Greenville scored two runs in the 10th and shut out Greensboro in the bottom half.

BRADENTON (18-23) beat Dunedin, 7-1 . Braylon Bishop drove in two runs and scored two runs. Bradenton posted four runs in the eighth. Keiner Delgado and Omar Alfonzo drove in a run each.

Bradenton starter Antwone Kelly struck out seven in four scoreless innings. Dunedin scored its run in the ninth on a wild pitch by Landon Tomkins.
