Sunday was the final time the Dunedin Blue Jays will play in 2024.
It’s approaching the end of the season, and now there are just three teams still playing baseball in the Toronto Blue Jays system.
Let’s take a look at what happened on Sunday in the latest Minor League Report!
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 9-3 to bring their second-half record to 26-36. They’re also on a four-game winning streak.
The biggest story is that one of Toronto’s top prospects, Orelvis Martinez, returned to the lineup on a rehab assignment. He hit two doubles in his return. Jonatan Clase, Will Robertson, Michael Turconi, Alan Roden, and Steward Berroa each hit a double, while Roden, Robertson, and Martinez had two-hit games. Josh Kasevich hit three singles as well.

Emmanuel Ramírez made his organizational debut, striking out a batter in a clean inning of work. Brandon Eisert allowed an earned run and a strikeout in his inning of work, while Dillon Tate struck out two in a clean inning.
The only loss in the Blue Jays’ minor league system was from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, as they fell 8-5 to the Portland Sea Dogs, bringing their second-half record to 21-31.
Yohendrick Piñango hit his first home run in the Jays organization, a three-run home run. Rainer Nuñez hit a double, while Devonte Brown and Josh Rivera each hit a single. Dasan Brown had two singles, while Nuñez and Rivera each walked twice.

There were a whole lot of pitchers used for the Fisher Cats in this game. Dahian Santos gave up four earned runs in two thirds of an inning, Nick Fraze struck out a batter in two and two third innings, and CJ Van Eyk pitched two innings with a strikeout. Trent Palmer pitched two thirds of an inning with a walk, strikeout, and a base hit.
Johnathan Lavallee pitched a third of an inning, and Ryan Jennings was tagged with a loss, giving up an earned run in an inning of work. Hunter Gregory gave up three earned runs in an inning of work, while Anders Tolhurst pitched a scoreless inning.
The Vancouver Canadians defeated the Eugene Emeralds 8-4 on Sunday, giving them two final wins before the Northwest League Championship Series that starts on Tuesday.
Vancouver only hit one home run, as Marcos De La Rosa hit his second in High-A, while Jace Bohrofen hit his organization-leading 27th double, as well as a single. Jacob Sharp also hit a double, while Bryce Arnold, Jackson Hornung, Jamari Baylor, and Alex Stone each hit a single.
Starting the game for the Canadians was Pat Gallagher, who pitched five innings, with two earned runs, four walks, and five strikeouts. On Sunday, the Dunedin Blue Jays defeated the Tampa Tarpons 4-2 in the final game of the season. They capped off the year with a six-game win streak and a 35-29 second-half record, just 2.5 games behind the division leaders. Just imagine if they didn’t lose five of seven against the division winners the previous week.
Brock Tibbitts hit his first professional home run in this game, driving in three runs with one swing of the bat. On top of a single, Arjun Nimmala also hit his 18th double, while Aaron Parker hit his eighth double since being drafted in July.
