Minor-league report: Priester dominates in seven scoreless innings

A look at Sunday’s minor-league action within the Pirates' system ...

INDIANAPOLIS (23-25) won at Iowa, 6-1Quinn Priester dominated by allowing one hit in seven scoreless innings. He struck out three and walked two on 81 pitches, 48 for strikes.

Priester has allowed three earned runs in 11 innings since being sent back down May 15.

Mike Jarvis hit a grand slam in Indianapolis' six-run first inning. 

Indianapolis begins a home series against Omaha Monday at 6:15 p.m. for Memorial Day. The teams will take a hiatus Tuesday and resume the series Wednesday through Sunday.

ALTOONA (14-31) lost at Erie, 12-5.The Seawolves posted 17 hits. Altoona reliever Cameron Junker allowed six runs in the fifth inning, and Kade McClure allowed four runs in the sixth inning.

Wyatt Hendrie hit a two-run double in the sixth for Altoona. 

The Curve return home for a six-game series against Portland beginning Tuesday.

GREENSBORO (26-19) beat Greenville, 5-4. Shawn Ross hit a three-run home run in the first inning and a solo homer in the sixth.

P.J. Hilson added a go-ahead solo homer in the eighth. 

Greensboro is at Asheville for six games beginning Tuesday.

BRADENTON (20-25) lost to Dunedin, 8-7. The Marauders scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth and had the tying run on first base with one out, but a fly out and a force out ended the game. 

Bradenton committed four errors in the field. 

Shalin Polanco hit a three-run homer for Bradenton in the eighth. Bradenton entered the inning trailing 6-1.
