Minor League Report: The Ryan McCarty Party kept rolling

Paolo Espino had the start for the Bisons, finishing with a line of 6 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 4 K to bring his season ERA to 4.81. Hayden Juenger allowed two runs and struck out a batter in his two innings of work, while Brandon Eisert struck out a batter in a clean inning.

New Hampshire gave up a late lead

Heading into the top of the eighth, the Fisher Cats had a 7-5 lead, but the Somerset Patriots (New York Yankees) scored three runs in the last two innings to win 8-7. New Hampshire’s record dropped to 19-24.

Miguel Hiraldo hit his first home run of the season and had a multi-hit game while driving in three runs. Josh Kasevich and Andres Sosa each hit a double and also had a multi-hit game, while Alan Roden had the team’s other double. Rainer Nuñez, Zach Britton, Devonte Brown, and Garrett Spain all had singles.

Michael Dominguez made the start for the Fisher Cats, finishing with a line of 4.2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 4 K with a home run given up to give him a season ERA of 4.36. Hunter Gregory gave up an earned run but struck out three in his 2.2 innings pitched. Jimmy Burnette was tagged with a blow save, giving up an earned run in his two thirds of an inning pitched. Getting the loss was Andrew Bechtold , who gave up an unearned run in his inning of work.

Vancouver snaps six-game losing streak

The Vancouver Canadians were the only team in the organization to win, defeating the Hillsboro Hops 4-2, bringing their record to 17-22 and snapping a six-game losing skid.

Ryan McCarty once again got everyone partying, as he hit his fifth home run of the season and had a multi-hit game. Nick Goodwin also hit his fourth home run of the season. As for the other hits, Dasan Brown , Jackson Hornung , Jamari Baylor , and Jean Arnaez all had singles.

Vancouver’s starting pitcher was Chris McElvain , who picked up a win and finished with a line of 5 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K to bring his season ERA to 3.41. Chay Yeager struck out two in his two innings of work, while Grayson Thruman pitched a scoreless inning. Justin Kelly completed the save, striking out a batter in an inning of work.

Dunedin blew a 3-0 lead, losing 4-3

After a six-game winning streak, the Dunedin Blue Jays have now lost three in a row, with their latest defeat coming against the Bradenton Marauders, falling 4-3.

Like the Canadians, the D-Jays had two home runs in the game. Alexis Hernandez hit his first home run in the organization, while Canadian Bryce Arnold hit his second of the year, which gave Dunedin a 3-0 lead. Unfortunately, that was the last run they’d score.

Arnold had a multi-hit game with an additional single, while Manuel Beltre, Daniel Pérez, and Marcos De La Rosa had singles.

Fernando Pérez had a great start, finishing with a line of 6.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K with a home run given up. Keiner Leon was tagged with the loss and blown save, giving up three earned runs in an inning and two thirds of work.

FCL Jays’ late rally fell short

Three runs in the bottom of the third sunk the Florida Complex League Blue Jays, as they fell 3-2 to the FCL Tigers to bring their record to 4-11.

The FCL Jays were the only affiliate without a home run, but Gregori Cano and Enmnauel Bonilla both hit doubles. Other players with a hit were Sam Shaw and Railin tejada who had two hits in the game.

Samuel Colmenares made the start for the F-Jays, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 K to bring his season ERA to 4.85. Jorge Guerra walked three and allowed a hit in two scoreless innings. Lluveres Severino allowed three hits and a walk, also in two scoreless innings.
