The Los Angeles Angels recently dropped a series at home to the Pittsburgh Pirates at home to fall to 12-12 on the season. Los Angeles has now dropped to fourth in the American League West division, and is a game and a half back of the first-place Seattle Mariners.
This series showcased the Angels' recent offensive drought, as they mustered just seven runs in the three-game set. The Angels were outscored 15-7 by Pittsburgh in this series.
But perhaps the most interesting moment in this series came from Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham. It seems like one particular action from the veteran outfielder may end up hurting his team.
In a post made to his X account, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher revealed that MLB would be punishing Tommy Pham for an obscene gesture during the Wednesday's game at Angel Stadium this week. The Angels lost that game 3-0.
“MLB has suspended Tommy Pham for one game after his obscene gesture at Angel Stadium this week," Fletcher relayed.

ICYMI, here's what happened:https://t.co/rlDXPFeUwP
Pham signed with the Pirates this past offseason for $4 million. So far this season, the 12th-year veteran is struggling. His slash line of .184/.267/.224 adds up to just a .491 OPS. In 23 games this season, Pham has yet to homer for Pittsburgh and has just six RBIs
After their series win against Los Angeles, the Pirates have advanced to 10-16 on the season, six games back of the National League Central leading Chicago Cubs. The Pirates will get ready to begin a three-game road series against the Los Angeles Dodgers starting Friday.
