MLB best bets for 10/17

After a few days in a row of just one MLB playoff game on the schedule, the NLCS and ALCS sync back up for a doubleheader on Thursday. With a loaded night of postseason baseball on deck, let's take a look at our three favorite bets for the slate.

Aaron Judge over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-125 DraftKings)

Welcome to the postseason, Mr. Judge! Judge broke out of his funk with a home run and three RBIs in Game 2, and we're hoping he can build on that momentum in a solid matchup Thursday night.

The Guardians are rolling with Matthew Boyd, which is great news for Judge considering he hit .311 with 16 home runs and a 1.240 OPS against lefties in the regular season. In 11 career plate appearances against Boyd, Judge has reached base seven times. The Yankees slugger has cleared this line in three straight games despite recording only two hits in that span.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto under 13.5 outs recorded (-120 FanDuel)

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been extremely careful with their starting pitchers this postseason, pulling them at the first sign of trouble because the bullpen has been performing so well. Dave Roberts also hasn't trusted Yamamoto to go deep in games since he returned from the injured list in September.

The rookie right-hander hasn't thrown more than 79 pitches in a start since rejoining the starting rotation, going under this line in four of six starts. He threw only 60 and 63, respectively, in his first two postseason starts, and we don't expect his workload to increase in his first career road playoff appearance.

Andy Pages over 0.5 hits (-115 DK)

The Dodgers are ready to deploy Pages in this righty-lefty matchup against Jose Quintana. Pages has been a southpaw specialist all season, as he hit .357 with a .916 OPS against lefties in the regular season.

Pages was in the starting lineup in a game against Quintana and the Mets earlier this year, and he went 2-3 with a single and a double. This price is too low on one of the best lefty hitters in L.A.'s lineup, even if the Dodgers pinch hit for him later in the game.
