There's no better way to snap out of the mid-week funk than to target some plus-money home run props in MLB, so let's do just that. Here are my three favorite players to hit a homer Wednesday night.
Wednesday night's matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles is a must-bet in terms of home run props. The wind will be blowing straight out to center field at Citizens Bank Park, creating a projected 32 percent boost to home runs (Ballpark Pal). Phillies starter Ranger Suarez has given up four home runs over his last four starts, and Ryan Mountcastle leads the Orioles in homers off left-handed pitching this year.
Don't look now, but Cody Bellinger is one of the hottest hitters in MLB. In 11 games since the All-Star break, the outfielder is batting .395 and slugging .791 with a league-leading five home runs. Now he gets to face Lance Lynn, who's surrendered the most homers in MLB this season (28). The weather at Guaranteed Rate Field Wednesday night is also creating a projected 30 percent boost to home runs, per Ballpark Pal. This is a no-brainer.
No one around MLB woke up Wednesday morning with a bigger pep in his step than Jose Abreu. In 15 career at-bats against Texas Rangers starter Andrew Heaney, Abreu is hitting .333 with a double and four home runs. The 36-year-old has also been on fire at the dish with a .302 batting average and .783 OPS since the All-Star break.
