MLB best bets, strikeout props for Friday 9/8: Blake is the bet to make

We bounced back on Thursday with a 2-1 mark in strikeout props to improve to 7-4 on the week. There are only three more picks standing in our way of a fourth straight winning week, so we might as well run up the score. Here are my three favorite K props for Friday's MLB slate.

Mike Clevinger over 5.5 Ks (+110 DraftKings)

Mike Clevinger isn't having his best season from a strikeout perspective. The Chicago White Sox right-hander is averaging 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings, which is the second-lowest mark of his seven-year career. This is a great matchup, though, against a Detroit Tigers lineup that's recorded the highest strikeout rate in MLB over the last 15 days (32.05 percent). Clevinger has gone over 5.5 Ks in three of his last five starts, and he has a great chance to do it again Friday.

Blake Snell under 6.5 Ks (-138 FanDuel)

You don't want to make a habit of fading Blake Snell in strikeout props. The San Diego Padres starter has the lowest ERA in the league at 2.50, and he's averaging 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings this season. So, why in the world are we betting the under? The Houston Astros, that's why.

The Astros have the highest batting average (.323), highest OPS (.962), and most runs scored (100) in MLB over the last two weeks, and they also have the lowest strikeout rate (15.21) in that span. Houston has also been a top-five hitting team against lefties all year. If there was ever a time to take an under on Snell, it would be now.

Kodai Senga over 7.5 Ks (+122 FD)

Kodai Senga has been feeling it on the mound lately, as he's racked up 22 strikeouts and given up only three earned runs over his last two starts. Now he gets to face a Minnesota Twins lineup that has the highest strikeout rate in MLB this season (30.29). We're backing the rookie to keep the good times rolling.
