MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 6/12

Last week was a good week. We added some winning days and if you look at the numbers below we are back in the black for the season. (No pressure)

Today is probably the day that the Denver Nuggets earn their first NBA Championship, but that game is not starting until 8:30 p.m. ET, so why not kill time with the five games that start prior to that tonight? The three games afterward give us a nice schedule to choose from on a Monday (even if I did pull a double from one of the games).

Let's keep the good times rolling.

MLB Picks for Monday, June 12

Favorite
Seattle Mariners -120 (vs. Miami Marlins)

While I am enjoying the struggles of the New York Mets, I am not sure I believe in the Miami Marlins. It is nice that they are not terrible, I guess. With their success, we are getting a good favorite price with the home side Seattle Mariners tonight. Rookie Bryce Miller has a WHIP under 1.0 (would be fourth if he qualified) and doesn't give up many homers. As long as he keeps doing what he is going he should give Seattle, a chance to win tonight.

Underdog
Cincinnati Reds +100 (at Kansas City Royals)

Cincinnati has quickly become the most fun team in the league. I do not want to jump on the bandwagon, but I am very happy to fade the Royals any chance I get. Especially when they are favored. They are just 3-9 in that role including 0-1 when Zach Greinke starts. They are 3-10 in all of his starts which makes backing the Reds' Luke Weaver way more palatable too. I would have made the Reds small favorites so this was an easy call. The line probably moves to where they might be by the first pitch.

Prop
Jonathan India Over 0.5 Runs +130

Per the above, the Reds are getting a lot of attention right now thanks to rookie sensation Elly De La Cruz, and winning. Tonight they are in KC and leadoff man Jonathan India caught my eye with his run prop being priced at +130. He has scored 4 runs over the last 2 games and is 5th in the Majors with 52. Non-Cruz Reds props are likely to be undervalued with him gaining so many eyeballs right now so I am leaning into it. We might get this one paid before the end of the first inning.
