The NLCS could be set in stone by late Wednesday night, as the New York Mets and the San Diego Padres will look to close out their respective NLDS matchups against the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers. With a crucial doubleheader of NLDS action on deck, let's check out our three favorite bets for the slate ahead.
Phillies at Mets, 5:08 p.m ET
The Phillies aren't putting together competitive at-bats right now, so manager Rob Thomson is shaking things up by plugging Wilson into the starting lineup. The moves makes sense considering Wilson has dominated left-handed pitching this season, batting .341 with a 1.025 OPS and a whopping 57.6 percent-hard hit rate. Jose Quintana ranks in the 24th percentile in xBA (.259), so this price is too low on a hitter who sees southpaws extremely well.
Phillies at Mets, 5:08 p.m. ET
Iglesias is off to a nice start in the postseason with six hits and three RBIs through six games. The Mets second baseman is in a prime spot in the lineup behind the top four hitters, and we saw that in Game 3 when he came to the plate with the bases loaded in back-to-back innings. If Iglesias steps up in an RBI situation, we like his chances to produce against Ranger Suarez. He's 6-8 with two doubles against Suarez in his career.
Dodgers at Padres, 9:08 p.m. ET
This is a lot of juice to lay on a walks prop, but that just tells you how much we like it. Cease has battled control issues all season, as he ranks in the 41st percentile in walk rate (8.5 percent). That number jumps to 10.7 percent when you look at his history against current Dodgers hitters. Los Angeles also has the highest walk rate in MLB against righties since the start of September. This price should be closer to -200.
