We've arrived at the first full week of MLB action for the 2024 season, and we can't wait to get rolling with home run props on a near-daily basis. Let's start the new week with our three favorite home run bets for Monday's MLB slate.
MacKenzie Gore was a profitable fade in home run props last year, as he gave up 27 dingers in 27 starts for the Washington Nationals. He gave up 23 of those 27 home runs to right-handed hitters. Hayes isn't the most dangerous righty in the Pittsburgh Pirates' lineup, but he does love facing lefties. The third baseman led the team in home runs (seven) against lefties last year, and he already has six hits in 11 at-bats against southpaws this season. We love Hayes at this price.
Monday night's battle between the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays should be a high-scoring affair with two inexperienced starters on the mound. Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco is making just his eighth start of his MLB career, and he's a solid fade candidate considering he gave up 2.1 home runs per nine innings in 17 appearances last season. Bichette led the Blue Jays in batting average (.303) and slugging percentage (.464) against right-handers last season, and he hit 16 of his 20 homers off righties.
Soto is off to a roaring start as a new member of the New York Yankees. The outfielder is batting .529 with a 1.365 OPS and one home run through four games, and he's staring down a great matchup on Monday night. Soto is 3-for-11 against Arizona Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson in his career, but two of those three hits were home runs. He led the San Diego Padres last year in home runs (27) and OPS (.980) against right-handed pitching, and he's crushing righties to start the 2024 season. Let's ride the hot bat.
