MLB home run props for 5/23: Yowser for Cowser

We nailed Bryce Harper to go yard at +290 on Wednesday night, and one of our other two picks was voided because Kody Clemens didn't play. Let's turn this into another winning streak with three more HR bets for Thursday's MLB slate.

Bryce Harper (+400 FanDuel)

Rangers at Phillies, 1 p.m. ET

If we liked Harper at +290, we're going to absolutely love him at +400. Let's run this one back.

This price is only +400 because left-hander Andrew Heaney is on the mound for the Texas Rangers, but Harper actually has a better batting average against lefties this season. The Philadelphia Phillies star is slugging .500 with three home runs against lefties, and he's slugging an impressive .750 over the last week. Even if Harper can't get to Heaney, the Rangers bullpen ranks dead last in MLB in ERA and has already given up 21 homers.

Riley Greene (+800 FD)

Blue Jays at Tigers, 6:40 p.m. ET

This number is simply too high. Riley Greene leads the Detroit Tigers in home runs (nine) and barrel rate (14.2 percent) this season. This is also a great matchup against Toronto Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman, who's giving up the 11th-highest barrel rate (10.4 percent) in MLB among qualified pitchers. Greene has faced Gausman only six times in his career, but he does have three hits against him. This was an automatic click at the +800 price tag.

Colton Cowser (+600 FD)

Orioles at White Sox, 7:40 p.m. ET

After starting the season on a tear, Colton Cowser has now gone homer-less in 24 straight games. His slugging percentage has dipped from .800 to .492 in that span. Despite the prolonged cold streak, the Baltimore Orioles outfielder is starting to pick it back up with a .353 batting average and a .971 OPS over the last week. Mike Clevinger has already given up eight runs and two homers in 11.1 innings of work this season, so this is a decent matchup for Cowser to end his power slump.
