On Tuesday, the MLB recorded a historic finish to the 2025 All-Star Game. Following the proceedings, Athletics star Brent Rooker would jokingly call out an MLB insider, which would later lead to him dropping a hilarious 3-word reaction on X.
Rooker was part of the American League team on Tuesday. After his team made an incredible comeback from being 6-0 down and tying the game at 6-6, the winner was decided through a first-ever swing-off contest.
The A’s star would go first in this and managed to hit 2 home runs in the 3 swings he had. His team, though, was unable to build on the good start from him as Randy Arozarena managed just one home run and Jonathan Aranda failed to hit any home run in his 3 swings.
The National League would go on to win 4-3 with an incredible performance from Kyle Schwarber, who was later named the MVP of the game.
As the lineups for the swing-off contest were announced, MLB insider Jeff Passan seemingly threw a shade at them. In a tweet, he expressed what the swing-off contest could have been had stars like Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani participated.

Brent Rooker, Jonathan Aranda, Randy Arozarena vs. Pete Alonso, Kyle Schwarber, Kyle Stowers.
What could have been:
Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. vs. Shohei Ohtani, Pete Alonso, Kyle Schwarber.
Hours after the event, Rooker would hilariously call out Passan. In a tweet, the A’s star asked whether he was not “good enough” for him.
Am I not good enough for you Jeff.

The ESPN insider would later react to this and drop a 3-word reaction. In his reply, Passan would call himself a “loser” and troll himself.

As per reports, the swing-off contest lineups were pre-determined. Meanwhile, top names like Judge and Ohtani had already left the stadium way before the game had ended.
Before the 2025 All-Star Game, Brent Rooker took part in the 2025 Home Run Derby. In the first round, he would suffer a controversial loss against Cal Raleigh due to the tiebreaker rules after finishing with 17 home runs. He would later rip these rules.
The two stars finished on level terms with 17 home runs in the first round. As a result of this, the longest home run would serve as the tiebreaker.
The problem was, both Rooker and Raleigh smashed a 470-foot home run. Raleigh would advance to the next round as his home run was 470.62 feet while Rooker’s was 470.54 feet. A decimal-point separation of only 0.96 inches separated the two of them.

While speaking with the reporters after this, Rooker would express his frustrations with this tiebreaker rule. The 30-year-old pointed out that the league should have displayed this during the contest and not after everyone was done.
You know, maybe if they have it to the decimal point, they should display that during the Derby and not wait till everyone’s done to bring out that information that might be helpful.

Rooker’s elimination from the Home Run Derby on this tiebreaker rule ignited several debates on social media, with many also accusing the league of favoring Raleigh. His loss turned out to be a big moment on Monday night.
Cal Raleigh, the Seattle Mariners catcher, would later go on to beat O’Neil Cruz and Junior Caminero to win the 2025 Home Run Derby. The 2025 MLB Home Run leader would become the first catcher to win the Home Run Derby. Rooker would later congratulate him on his win in a tweet on X.

The Athletics star is having a great season with the team once again. Through the 1st half of the season, he has slammed 20 home runs and managed to drive in 54 runs. The A’s, who are 41-59 for the year at the moment, would be hoping for some more positive impact from him as they get ready to embark on the 2nd half of the season.
