The San Diego Padres are an exciting baseball team. With a plethora of young talent on their roster, electrifying moments are constantly in the on-deck circle. One of their most talented young stars, Fernando Tatis Jr., has shown flashes of greatness throughout his seven-year MLB-career and does it with an unparalleled flare.
The baseball world has seen the 26-year-old phenom's ceiling, when he clubbed 42 home runs and stole 25 bases in 130 games in 2021. Tatis Jr. would finish third in the National League MVP vote that season.
The concern for Tatis Jr. has never been his talent, rather his ability to stay healthy and on the field on a daily basis. Through the Padres' first 41 games of the season, Tatis Jr. has proven healthy, lacing up his cleats in 40 of them.
And in Game No. 40, in at-bat No. 155, Tatis Jr. electrified his home-crowd inside Petco Park with a 430-foot, walk-off home run that landed his Padres win No. 26 on the season (6-4 over the Los Angeles Angels).
MLB ran to social media, sending a three-word message immediately following the two-run blast.

"NANDO CALLED GAME!" MLB posted to their official X account.
The walk-off moonshot was home run No. 11 on the season for Tatis Jr. After turning around a 90 mile per hour cutter from Angels closer, Kenley Jansen, Tatis Jr. would instantly toss one of the more stylish bat flips you'll likely see all season. He would then admire his work for more than a few seconds before proceeding toward first base.
The 43,957 fans inside Petco Park were sent into a frenzy, and Tatis Jr. took his time rounding the bases, with a hop-step prior to rounding third base.
The Padres are now within one game of the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the NL West. And the Padres are now 15-5 at home this season, as they win in a multitude of ways. They hold the second best batting average in the league (.266), behind only the New York Yankees (.267).
They have also given up the second least amount of runs in the NL (145), behind only the New York Mets (136). The Padres will look for consecutive wins when they take on the Angels on Wednesday at 9:40 p.m. EDT.
