The New York Yankees are 27-19 heading into a series with the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, May 20.
That record puts the Bronx Bombers in a tie for second for the American League lead , trailing the Detroit Tigers by three games.
Especially of late, Yankees rookie outfielder Jasson Domínguez has been a big part of that. As he's launched 4 home runs and driven in 16 RBI since April 15.
The MLB X account shared some intriguing Domínguez buzz on May 20, identifying him as an "early contender" for the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2025.

His competition included Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson, Boston Red Sox infielder Kristian Campbell, Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Shane Smith and Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano.
The graphic also noted that these early AL Rookie of the Year contenders were chosen by a "panel of MLB.com experts."
Domínguez is off to a decent start at the plate, but it feels like he's yet to truly realize his full potential, considering his three-home run performance on May 9.
It's easy to forget that Domínguez only turned 22 years old in February, and the Yankees have to like what they see as their prized prospect begins to scratch the surface of his immense but raw talent.
On the 2025 season, Domínguez is batting .241 with 5 homers and 21 RBI. He has an OPS of .763 and a slugging percentage of .421, along with 4 stolen bases, 24 runs scored, 20 walks and 45 strikeouts.
