MLB Shares The Exciting Wild Card Races In Both Leagues
Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

The MLB postseason is near.

Pennant races are heating up.

We’ve got an exciting couple of weeks ahead of us before some of these races are decided.

The Wild Card races in both leagues are pretty exciting right now.

In the American League, we’ve got the Toronto Blue Jays a half-game ahead of the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays, who occupy the second and third Wild Card spots as of now.

The Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox are five and six games back, respectively.

In the National League, whoever loses out on the NL East title will have a firm grasp on the top Wild Card spot, whether it be the New York Mets or the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves.

But of course, the other two spots are still up for grabs.

The Philadelphia Phillies are ahead of the San Diego Padres by a game-and-a-half for the second spot, while the Milwaukee Brewers trail the Padres by just two games for the final spot.

A Wild Ride Ahead

Things are about to get really exciting in the Wild Card races.

While the AL race looks close to being decided and is seemingly just a race between three teams, the NL race is a little less clear.

There are three teams fighting for the final two spots with a couple weeks to go, and they’re all within a couple of games of each other.

Either way, this one might just come down to the wire and spill into the final week of the season.

A lot can happen in a few weeks, and that race could look completely different when it’s all said and done.
