We broke even with a 1-1 mark (with one rainout) in our latest edition of strikeout props, so we're looking to close out the week on a profitable note. Let's finish strong with our three favorite K props for Friday's MLB slate.
White Sox at Tigers, 6:40 p.m. ET
The Chicago White Sox have been holding Crochet back from his full workload to save his arm, but we could see them giving the left-hander more leeway in what will be his last start of the 2024 season. Crochet struck out eight batters in only 4.0 innings against the San Diego Padres in his last start, and he has a ridiculous 43.4 percent K rate in four starts this month. There aren't many pitchers who can rack up Ks in a short amount of time like Crochet, and the Detroit Tigers have the highest strikeout rate against lefties over the last two weeks (33.7 percent).
Phillies at Nationals, 6:45 p.m. ET
Suarez hasn't been effective at forcing swings and misses since he came off the injured list in August. The Philadelphia Phillies left-hander has just a 20.8 percent strikeout rate since his return to the rotation, and he's gone under this line in three of his last four starts. The Washington Nationals have been stingy down the stretch, as they have the fourth-lowest strikeout rate against lefties this month (19.6 percent). Current Nats hitters also have a minuscule 9.8 percent K rate in 51 plate appearances against Suarez.
Dodgers at Rockies, 8:10 p.m. ET
Quantrill ranks in the ninth percentile in strikeout rate (17.2 percent) and the seventh percentile in chase rate (24.3 percent) this season, and he's been even worse against this Los Angeles Dodgers lineup throughout his career. In 125 plate appearances against Quantrill, current Dodgers hitters are striking out only 12.0 percent of the time. Los Angeles also has the lowest strikeout rate against righties over the last week (15.0 percent).
