We started off the week with a solid 2-1 mark in strikeout props on Monday, and we're looking to keep the profit train rolling. Let's check out our three favorite K props for Tuesday's MLB slate.
Blue Jays at Orioles, 6:35 p.m. ET
Kyle Bradish is off to a hot start this season with 14 strikeouts and only two earned runs in his first 9.2 innings of work, but we don't think he'll be able to keep up that high strikeout rate in this matchup. The Toronto Blue Jays rank fifth in MLB in strikeout rate this season, and their 15 percent K rate over the last three games is the second-lowest mark in the league. Bradish also has a career 12.0 percent K rate against current Blue Jays hitters in 108 plate appearances.
Nationals at White Sox, 4:40 p.m. ET
This is a scary bet considering Dylan Cease ranks third in MLB in whiff rate (36.5 percent) and fourth in strikeout rate (32.4 percent), but this number is just too high. Despite his dominance this season, Cease has gone over 8.5 Ks just once in his eight starts. He struck out eight hitters against the Colorado Rockies a few weeks ago, and it took him 7.0 innings to do it. Well, Cease hasn't gone past 7.0 innings all year, so he'll need to be even more efficient than he was in his first start against Colorado to clear this number. We'll bet against that.
Royals at Mariners, 9:40 p.m. ET
Logan Gilbert has gone over 5.5 strikeouts in seven of his eight starts this season, but we're fading him with a tough matchup on deck. The Kansas City Royals are an elite lineup at putting balls in play, as they rank second in zone contact rate and chase contact rate. They also have the second-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. Gilbert likes to challenge hitters with his hard fastball-slider combination, but that strategy may not work against a Royals lineup that doesn't swing and miss very often.
