It's been a middling week in strikeout props, but we're looking to finish it off with a bang. Let's sweep the board with our three favorite K props for Friday's MLB slate.
Braves at Yankees, 7:05 p.m. ET
We've been riding Sale's overs all season, and we don't see any reason to stop now. The veteran left-hander ranks in the 96th percentile in whiff rate, the 91st percentile in strikeout rate and the 90th percentile in whiff rate this season. He also has a ridiculous 47.4 percent K rate in 78 career matchups against current New York Yankees hitters. The Yankees have been stingy against lefties this month, but if anyone can shut down this lineup, it's Sale.
Braves at Yankees, 7:05 p.m. ET
Buckle up for a pitchers' duel in the Bronx. Rodon has reached eight strikeouts just once in his last nine starts, but this is a perfect matchup for him to rack up Ks. In 43 combined plate appearances against the left-hander, current Atlanta Braves hitters are batting .146 with a whopping 41.9 percent strikeout rate. Rodon's last start against Atlanta came in 2022, but he struck out 10 batters in 7.0 innings. The Braves have a 30.8 percent K rate against lefties over the last week, so this is a good time to catch them.
Blue Jays at Guardians 7:10 p.m. ET
This is a juicy price to pay for a strikeout prop, but that's how much we like it. Carrasco is not an effective swing-and-miss pitcher at this point in his career, as the 37-year-old ranks in the 15th percentile in strikeout rate (16.9 percent) this year. The Cleveland Guardians right-hander has gone under this line in five of his last seven starts, including the last game when he struck out only two and gave up five earned runs against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have the highest chase contact rate (60.0 percent) and the fourth-lowest K rate against righties over the last two weeks, so this rematch shouldn't go any differently.
