MLB Team Draws Embarrassing Crowd at Tuesday Night Home Game

The Miami Marlins have been one of the early surprises of the 2025 MLB campaign, as they have enjoyed an 8-8 start to the year, despite entering the season with virtually no expectations. Despite that, fans don't seem too interested in the team based on their attendance numbers from their latest game.

The Marlins have consistently struggled to build a playoff contender, as they have made it to the postseason just twice since winning the World Series back in 2003. They currently find themselves stuck in the middle, as they aren't a championship caliber team, but their front office won't commit to a rebuild.

That could change this season, especially if the team decides to trade former National League Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara. After missing the entire 2024 campaign due to Tommy John surgery, Alcantara has returned to the mound this year, posting a 4.70 earned run average over his first three starts.

Alcantara's return has helped the Marlins a better-than-expected start to the season. That hasn't made their fans any more interested in the team, though, as the team drew a measly attendance of 7,324 fans for their Tuesday night clash against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"Just 7,324 fans watched the Marlins vs. Dbacks last night at LoanDepot Park. The Marlins entered the game over .500. The weather was 79 degrees with clear skies. MLB has a big problem in Miami," Dan Clark of The Big Leagues Daily shared in a post on X alongside a video of the sparsely filled stadium.

Even with their solid start, the Marlins still sit behind the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies in the very competitive National League East division.

After suffering a blowout 10-4 loss on Tuesday, the Marlins are back in action on Wednesday night against the Diamondbacks as they attempt to knot their current series at one win apiece.
