Carlos Beltran has been retired since 2018, but the former nine-time All-Star is still popular among New York Mets fans.
The nine-time All-Star played for the Mets from 2005-2011, slashing .280/.369/.500 with 149 home runs and 559 RBI in 839 games. He made six All-Star teams in addition to winning three Gold Gloves and two Silver Sluggers during that period. While New York only made the playoffs once in his tenure, it came within one game of the World Series, losing 4-3 in the 2006 NLCS to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Beltran was traded to the San Francisco Giants in July 2011, but a new development should excite the Mets fanbase.
The 47-year-old is returning to MLB The Show 25 as its newest legend, via MLB The Show.
Beltran's 99 overall card will be the game's live series collection reward. The Show's Ultimate Team mode, Diamond Dynasty, allows users to collect live series players for all 30 MLB teams. Players who collect all of them will be rewarded with the 99 overall Beltran.

In addition to his Mets and Giants tenures, Beltran played for the Kansas City Royals (1998-2004), Houston Astros ('04), St. Louis Cardinals (2012-13), New York Yankees (2014-16), and Astros again (2017). The switch-hitter won the 2017 World Series with Houston in the final year of his career.
Following his retirement, Beltran was hired as the Mets' manager in 2020. However, he stepped down without managing a game after being named in the Astros' sign-stealing scandal that broke in late 2019. He then joined New York's front office in 2023, and has stayed ever since.
