The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned catcher Hunter Feduccia to triple-A Oklahoma City, the team announced. Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic added an update, too:
Feduccia will still be in Tokyo and be available as part of the travel roster. This is just a logistical move. https://t.co/YoYBzXR2Nt

Feduccia may still be on the team’s travel roster, but this is uncompromising news for his MLB hopes.
He made his Big League debut last season, recording four hits over 12 at-bats. Feduccia is behind back-to-back all-star Will Smith and longtime, reliable backup Austin Barnes.
Smith is one of the top catchers in the league and will turn 30 in two weeks. He has played in at least 126 games during the last four campaigns. Barnes, who is 35, has been with the franchise for ten years.
The fan favorite is everything you want in a secondary catcher. His defense takes precedence, and he may finish his service as a one-team player.
This makes the path to playing time with the Dodgers difficult for the 27-year-old Feduccia. He started with Oklahoma City in 2022 and has been a fixture ever since. In 82 games last year, he batted .284 with a .837 OPS and hit six home runs.
It was a convincing performance after similar stats in 2023. However, considering his unlikely ascension to the MLB (barring injuries), Feduccia could be a trade piece for Los Angeles.
While this is an intense team with few holes, a franchise needing a backup catcher with starting potential could be in play sometime this summer.
Feduccia may be better-slotted as the triple-A catcher with MLB availability, but his status is something to monitor.
