Welcome back to a fresh week. We finally have some consistent baseball back in our lives. The Olympics begin Friday from Paris, so stay on the lookout for resources there. Today, we keep it simple and bring forth a few MLB prop trends you can put to use in a variety of ways.
Xander Schauffele wins second straight major — After being known as the guy who couldn't get over the hump, Xander Schauffele has quickly reinvented his image, solidifying himself as one of the most clutch golfers on tour. Schauffele took home a three-stroke win at The Open yesterday thanks to a 65, his second-straight major win. Schauffele will now turn his attention to the Olympics, which starts next Thursday. Schauffele, one of four Americans in the field, is +600 to win.
Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2024 inducted on Sunday — On Sunday, Adrian Beltre, Todd Helton, Joe Mauer and Jim Leyland received their formal inductions into Cooperstown as the Hall of Fame's Class of 2024. A loaded class. Beltre was one of the league's best two-way players, Helton was known for his big hits in big moments, Mauer struck out only once in high school before being drafted by the Twins, and Leyland coached for one of the longest stretches in baseball history.
Celtics continue to lock down championship-winning roster for long-term — The Boston Celtics just keep on locking down contributors from their NBA Finals run this past season, signing wing Sam Hauser to a four-year, $45 million deal. Hauser joins Jayson Tatum and Derrick White as Celtics who have signed extensions this summer, plus Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are all locked up to long-term deals as well. Boston is the understandable favorite to win it all next season at +295, and with the team back together, there's every reason to expect a strong repeat bid.
