With the MLB All-Star break approaching in the next couple of weeks, players are beginning to receive word on whether they'll be participating in the weekend's slate of events.
One big name that's risen in Major League Baseball this 2025 season is Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh.
In his fifth season in the league, Raleigh has emerged as one of the best, if not the best, catchers in all of baseball.
As a switch-hitting catcher, the 28-year-old phenom has completely lit up other teams this season.
Raleigh has surpassed some of the league's biggest names like Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani and has hit a league-leading 32 home runs and 69 RBI through 79 games for the Mariners this season.
With a .275 BA, .380 OBP, .651 SLG, and a 1.031 OPS, it's been announced that the Mariners' star will be participating in the 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby during All-Star break.

This will be Cal Raleigh's first Home Run Derby that he's played in in his career. He will be joining the Atlanta Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr. as the only other player to announce their bids into the event so far.
Although Raleigh's been known for his stellar defense at the catcher position and winning Gold Glove and Platinum Glove Award in 2024, his bat has become one of the best in baseball and is expected to make his first All-Star team this season.
His electric uprising has also helped lead the Mariners to a 41-39 record while currently sitting second in the AL West division, 6.5 games behind the Houston Astros.
