'Narco' creators say Mets' Edwin Diaz only MLB player who can use viral hit

Back in August, Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf of the music duo Blasterjaxx explained that they want to attend a New York Mets game and possibly perform their hit song "Narco" in front of the home crowd. "Narco," of course, became a viral sensation throughout the baseball world on multiple occasions this summer thanks to Mets closer Edwin Diaz using it as his walkout music.

Blasterjaxx created "Narco" along with Timothy Smith, more commonly known as "Timmy Trumpet." One wonders if Jongkind and Makhlaf felt some jealousy after they watched Smith perform "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch of Tuesday's contest between the Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers and after they saw him introduce none other than Diaz for the ninth inning of Wednesday's matchup.

There has, however, been some controversy in MLB circles due to the fact that other players use "Narco" as walkup music. Among them is William Contreras of the Atlanta Braves, arguably New York's most-hated division rival.

During an appearance on the MLB Network program "Off Base," Blasterjaxx endorsed Diaz as the only official user of "Narco" in the league:

Others such as Contreras were advised to "choose your own song."

Meanwhile, Mets fans are hoping they'll be able to happily sound the trumpets through all of October:
