Washington Nationals batting practice pitcher James Frisbie was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after collapsing during the team’s batting practice prior to their game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa.

Frisbie had to be taken away on a stretcher after collapsing. The Nats canceled the rest of their batting practice and headed into the clubhouse until hearing about the staff member’s condition.

The 13-18 Nats went on to lose 7-2 to the Phillies. After the game, Nats manager Davey Martinez said that Frisbie was “coherent and feeling better.”

Frisbie, 52, used to be a pitcher in independent ball. He has also managed numerous independent ball teams over the years.
